About the Role

At SAMY x team5pm, we are redefining how brands navigate the social universe. Across the globe we have established workflows for delivering best in class social media services to clients and in these processes, have collected data to support the delivery. AI is now presenting a unique opportunity to lever that data to refine and empower the workflows our industry experts have developed.

As the AI lead, you will spearhead two of our AI initiatives, exploring how our global internal teams can feel empowered by AI whilst finding ways to integrate AI into our client facing servicing offering in ethical and transparent ways that have genuine impact.

At SAMY x team5pm, we have a very balanced take on AI. Some of it is hype, but it is undoubtedly going to transform the social media ecosystems that we work in. We want this role to play a key part in safeguarding how we interface with social media platforms and define new industry standards for how AI can be used in the space.

• Lead the AI initiatives: Lead our two respective AI initiatives - SAMY Backbone - creating an internal agentic infrastructure to support our core teams. And SAMY OS, a suite of agents dedicated to delivering client facing work across our data, strategy, and studio teams.

  Data Led development: We have a significant amount of data around social media content. Our agents need to be able to inference with that data to ensure any actions our grounded in our known truth.

  Collaborative Innovation: We see generative AI for content creation as a different scope entirely to these initiatives, but there is still room to work with creatives using AI in their work to share learnings and build a collaborative ecosystem.

  Product Integration: Partner with the Data Product Manager to ensure our internal data products lever AI in a robust and rigorous way

  Lead the team: this is the genesis of a new AI division and your chance to grow a small team of specialists and shape our AI roadmap.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Must Have

• 3-5 years of experience in a data discipline with the last 2 years experimenting with AI in some degree. We appreciate this is a new area and not asking for you to be someone who has 30 years of ML experience, but you must have a solid foundation in working with structured data and a solid understanding of the high level opportunities and risks that AI brings.

• Experience working with stakeholders: In order to automate, you need to be able to communicate effectively with end stakeholder to understand their needs and demonstrate how what you build solves them.

• Social Data Experience: Familiarity with the nuances of social media APIs and the challenges of unstructured data.

• Leadership Presence: Experience managing or mentoring engineers and the ability to translate technical "blockers" into business solutions.

Good to have

• Multi-market/multi-language experience and additional European languages (role-dependent).

• Curiosity for culture and consumer behaviour: actively tracks trends, creator ecosystems, and category signals.

• Prior experience at a marketing agency
