Budget Controller by SAMY 

As Budget Controller, you’ll be the daily point of contact when it comes to all things client billing within a dedicated division of L’Oréal. You’ll work closely with both the L’Oréal team and our own finance department: making sure invoices are accurate, sent on time, and followed up as needed. In this role, you’ll really become part of the core financial operations: reconciling accounts, analyzing revenue, managing our factoring line, and continuously helping shape how we handle our financial processes.

What you’ll do

  • Oversee and coordinate the monthly billing process, ensuring invoices are generated accurately and on time according to commercial agreements and contracts.

  • Make sure revenues are recognized in line with internal policies and relevant accounting standards.

  • Work hand-in-hand with sales and operations teams to get all the needed details for invoicing, sort out any discrepancies, and guarantee data accuracy.

  • Take care of proactive invoice follow-up, handle collections with accounts receivable, and make sure payments arrive on time.

  • Be responsible for the company’s factoring line: submitting invoices for factoring, clear communication with the factoring company, and making sure everything runs smoothly and by the book.

  • Regularly dive into billing and revenue data, spot opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and boost overall efficiency.

  • Ensure all invoicing meets local and international tax regulations.

  • Suggest new ways to improve invoicing systems and financial processes—more efficient, less room for error.

  • Prepare and present financial reports (cash flow, billing, accounts receivable) for the finance team and senior management.

What are we looking for

  • You’ve got hands-on experience managing client billing, ideally in a service-based company or in international trade. You know the ropes when it comes to invoicing clients and sorting out the details.

  • You’ve worked on automating financial processes before—so you know how to make things easier and more efficient.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or something similar, or you’ve gained this experience on the job.

  • You’ve worked at least 2–3 years in a similar role, preferably with a focus on billing or financial control, so you know what the job is about.

  • You’ve got a solid understanding of tax and accounting rules around invoicing, so things don’t slip through the cracks.

  • You’re analytical and have a sharp eye for detail: you can handle big piles of data without dropping the ball.

  • You’re cool under pressure and know how to hit deadlines, even when it gets busy.

  • You’re a real team player who communicates clearly and works well with others.

  • You know your way around financial tools and ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or Netsuite.

  • Netsuite is a must-have: you’ve used it before, ideally in a tech startup or digital company.

  • You’re totally comfortable communicating in English, both written and spoken. If you also speak Dutch and French, it’s definitely a plus!
